The Junior League of Orange County California (JLOCC) is hosting its first annual LUNAFEST®, a fundraising film festival featuring six short films made by, for and about women, in Corona Del Mar, California on April 2.
All proceeds from the event will support JLOCC initiatives and the Breast Cancer Fund.
The films range from animation to fictional drama and cover topics such as women’s health, motherhood, body image, aging, cultural diversity and breaking barriers.
Two screenings will be held Saturday, April 2 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Corona Del Mar’s Port Theater at 2905 East Coast Hwy.
“We are thrilled to host the LUNAFEST® film festival in Orange County for the first time,” said JLOCC President Carla Dillon.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate women in film, bring awareness to issues affecting women across the globe and further our mission to improve the health, education and well-being of all members of the Orange County community.”
The program runs 90 minutes and will be followed by a question and answer session with Los Angeles based Anna Schumacher, director one of the featured films, “Finding June.”
On Saturday evening following the screening, guests are invited to enjoy an old Hollywood-theme red carpet party with hors d’oeuvres, drinks, a silent auction and prizes.
