Tamarind of London Joins (RED)’s Global Culinary Campaign to Help Raise Funds in the Fight Against AIDS

This June, where and what you eat can help save lives and deliver the first AIDS Free Generation in over 30 years, thanks to the EAT (RED) DRINK (RED) SAVE LIVES campaign.

Tamarind of London, a contemporary Indian restaurant in Newport Coast, Calif., that pays homage to India’s flavorful traditional favorites while artfully integrating California’s robust selection of seasonal ingredients, is proud to announce that it will be joining restaurants, bars and food trucks across the world to encourage epicureans to EAT (RED), DRINK (RED) and help SAVE LIVES.

From June 1 through June 30, Tamarind of London will be offering customers a limited-time (RED) dessert and cocktail, with all proceeds from each menu item benefiting the Global Fund to fight AIDS.

Spearheaded by Mario Batali, EAT (RED) DRINK (RED) SAVE LIVES is a month-long campaign which unites every aspect of the culinary world with one shared goal: to make a collective impact in the fight against AIDS.

Today, it costs as little as 40 cents for two lifesaving pills that, when taken daily, can prevent an HIV+ mom from passing the virus to her unborn baby. Still, 650 babies are needlessly born with the virus every day.

Together with food and drink businesses across the world, Tamarind of London is proud to play a role in getting that number to near zero in the coming years.

During the month of June, Tamarind of London guests will have the opportunity to support this campaign by indulging in two new limited-time (RED) menu items.

The featured dessert will be a take on a classic; (RED) Velvet Cherry Cake which will incorporate St. Germaine infused cream cheese frosting, a cherry glaze, and accented with dark cherry garnishes and white chocolate. Guests will also be able to sip their way toward making a difference by enjoying the (RED) Rose Petal Martini, comprised of fresh red rose petals, vodka, lime and rose syrup.
