I recently got to try Stefano’s, a delicious Yorba Linda-based family-style casual dining restaurant and catering company.
In addition to the extremely-friendly staff, the overall ambiance is warm and inviting. Various spices, wines, and other items are available for purchase.
Stefano’s was established in 2003 by husband and wife team Frank and Colleen Stefano, and today their two children are also part owners and operators. It makes sense that this a family-owned and operated venue with the overall ambiance and welcoming vibe that makes visitors feel like they are apart of the Stefano family.
Frankie Jr. is always looking for ways to diversify and improve the Stefano’s menu, which is how his Bur-Gini and Paleo Salads were born!
Two amazingly popular menu items that came to life right in his kitchen thanks to his passion, dedication and creativity:
- Bur-Gini: Stefano’s signature beef patty blend of chuck, short rib, and brisket, served with roasted garlic and jalapeno cream cheese, bacon, avocado, tomatoes, cheddar cheese and onions.
- Paleo Salad: Roasted all natural tri tip, cherry tomatoes, red onion, avocado, served over spinach with an oil and vinegar dressing.
I got to try a few of the pasta salads and they were all really good. All three had distinct personalities and it was tough choosing a favorite.
My friend tried the burgini while I tried the caprise panini. I loved the carprise and highly recommend dipping it in their tomato bisque soup. My friend, Ari, said the burgini was great as well and she commented on the unique blend of flavors.
Frankie Jr. is also known to creatively mix things up by offering weekly on-the-go dinners, which are a great value and feed a family of four (two adults and two kids). The restaurant also offers nightly dinners and seasonal special events, such as food and beer tastings, crab broils and more.
Since opening its doors in August 2002, Stefano’s has stayed in its same location in Yorba Linda and has been profitable right out of the gates with 30-50% growth rates. In fact, they have grown their business into several distinct product segments including catering, white label products (they are they hams sold at Bristol Farms!) and more. Their day-to-day restaurant growth has exceeded all forecasts by 20% each year, which speaks to their loyal customers and continued excellence in customer service and quality of menu items.
I also appreciate how they’ve embraced social media and made it easy for people to find them online and share photos taken at the venue. It’s nice having a restaurant’s handle and hashtag prominently displayed and encouraged.
It’s easy to see why this authentic eatery continues to thrive. The mix of transparency along with distinct, flavorful menu items create a must-try environment. I don’t get up to Yorba Linda very often, but I definitely plan to return to Stefano’s next time I do!
